As a new Black belt you need to understand your responsibility,
To often I see students promoted to this rank only to see them reduce or stop training altogether. Before this they were attending every class and yet today we hardly see them training.
It is important to remember that been a black belt you are expected to have a good technical level, but having high ethics and morality,, commitment and resiliency is even more important.
You have a responsibility to yourself to keep training to achieve excellence. And remember just same as an officer within the forces you must lead by example. Lower grades look at what you are doing not what you have done for inspiration.
Black Belt is not the end, it’s the beginning of a journey, One which still has so much to offer. Remember the old saying if you don’t use it you lose it.
Think of all the hard work and time you put in to reach this level only to Look at a certificate on the wall or get your belt out of a draw now and again to reminisce?.
Lots of people have a good story about why they started training in martial arts but I have never heard a good one for stopping.
Be A Black Belt
And Never Say
I Was A Black Belt
